To live and die in nyc...

This is how it is to live and die in nyc, This is how to we grow up with tough skin, grey days, friends
with sharp teeth. This is what its like to be eaten alive, chewed up and spit out.
Growing up and with the city at your back and your home on your shoulders. Going home to
subway, going home to the park, going home to someone else's house, everywhere but home.
This is how its is to live in nyc.Metro cards were the reason to go to school the first week.
Summer school meant vacations, open cribs and open legs.
August Burning through our skin.
There not really any shade when buildings go straight up,you just trot across the dry barren
fucked up society where children are used as currency only its the rich walking across 5th ave
with their nose up in the air, going home to self medicate while their children buy our fake acid tabs.
This is the smaller excuse to no give a fuck.
The children gather in small groups and divide the world from nature and nurture. Almost as from black to
color the pain is noticeable on our faces as we drag our empty souls across the 9 to 5
filled streets. Like walking through a masquerader only under the white mask are demons.
Some alcohol, Some pills, Beneath that some childhood trauma. Some drugs, Some people.
This how it is to live and die in nyc.
Smaller lungs from choking on the broken dream where you used to look up, now you can bearly hold
your head up as you walk by a cemetery.
Pay homage to those who fought every day through the jungles of demons.
Their scars the stress marks on their heads from worrying, now just angels
in eternal rest.eternally judging the young as it was meant to be.
The dead could up and just plead with the sky for one more moment, sounds go unheard
from the highways and byways, from the crowd on the subway, from the loud girl at the bar
trying to attract far too much attention, from the drunk father at home cursing the hitter bottom of the 5th,
From the kids high on fire, setting light to only road in or out of town.
This is how its is to Die in nyc.
